
"Shakshuka" is considered one of the well-known Levantine folk foods that originated and was known in occupied Palestine since ancient times, it spread to become one of the main known foods in the Arab world. Where it is famous in Tunisia, Algeria and North Africa. It is one of the favorite and popular foods for many people because it is easy and quick to prepare. It is served in many places like Egypt as a main meal for lunch or breakfast. And because the main ingredient of this dish is eggs, and sometimes in some recipes meat, so it is rich in protein, which the body needs to provide it with sufficient energy for its day.
Ingredients of Tunisian Shakshouka
- ¼ cup olive oil
- 1 sliced onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- ½ chili pepper horn, chopped
- 1 cup chopped colored pepper
- 1 tomato, chopped

The method of Tunisian Shakshouka
- In a frying pan over the heat, put the olive oil, then the onions, and stir them slightly until the onions are withered.
- Add garlic, hot pepper and colored pepper and keep stirring until the ingredients are wilted.
- Add tomatoes, season with all spices, stirring.
- Add eggs and leave on heat until ripe. Then serve hot.

How to make a Shakshuka with eggs

How to make Shakshuka in the oven
- In a small skillet, add olive oil, then add garlic, onions and stir over medium heat until the onions are tender, then add tomatoes and peppers.
- Season the mixture with salt and black pepper, and leave it on for a minute.
- In a greased casserole with butter, put the mixture in it. Then make a hole in the middle, break it with eggs.
- Put the tagine in the oven for 15 minutes. Then take it out and garnish with parsley.
