Causes of insomnia in women Insomnia is divided into two main types, namely primary and secondary insomnia.

primary insomnia :

This one actually occurs without a major cause, or it may be caused by some changes in the routine of life such as travel, or exposure to some psychological stress.

secondary insomnia :

It is insomnia caused by the presence of a problem that led to it, and it may be temporary or chronic depending on the cause Here is a statement of some of the causes of secondary insomnia :

Lifestyle :

Such as spending a long time talking to friends during bedtime, working long hours, in addition to the responsibility of children and home, so care must be taken to exercise some exercise, and relaxation exercises to help improve sleep quality. 

Hormonal disorder :

Hormonal changes that occur in women during the menstrual period may be accompanied by suffering from insomnia in addition to some other symptoms, and the chance of developing insomnia in women after menopause increases, and it should be noted that some therapeutic methods help get rid of this problem, and other symptoms accompanying it, so it is worth checking with the doctor in this case to determine the appropriate treatment. 

Sleep disturbances :

Brain diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. Diseases that lead to chronic pain, such as arthritis. Diseases that cause difficulty breathing, such as asthma. Thyroid hormone disorder. Stroke. The diagnosis of insomnia depends on the condition of the affected person, and some different diagnostic tests can be used in this case, including the following :

The physician may resort to a clinical examination to reveal other signs that may indicate the occurrence of one of the health problems that led to insomnia, and in some cases, a blood analysis may be done to reveal some other health problems, such as thyroid disorders.
